Ahead of polls, Naidu worried about EVMs tampering

Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu has expressed his views on many topics in the party committee meeting held on Tuesday. He has expressed his view of early election and functioning of EVMs.

As BJP is working hard and leaving no stone unturned to defeat TDP at any cost in the coming 2019 elections, Naidu is suspecting that BJP might resort to tampering of the EVMs in key constituencies so that the TDP loses the elections in these seats even with a lesser margin.

He asked the party cadre to be extremely careful as the election authorities, who would be under direct control of the Centre, would supply tampered EVMs.

Naidu has asked for an alternative or solution to the problem. He said, ‘’There are suspicions about the functioning of EVMs at the national level’’
He also stated that even in developed countries ballot system is being used. TDP has always been opting for the ballot model only. We will make this a debatable point at the national level and will take care to safeguard the democracy, said Naidu.

There are rumors around that BJP is resorting to some tricks with the EVMs for remaining in power. In the recent Karnataka elections, there were allegations that the BJP had tampered with the electronic voting machines (EVMs) at several places, where the Congress candidates were strong and managed to win those seats. Even in Gujarat, too BJP faced the same allegations.

Naidu by expressing his concern of EVMs has strategically given BJP a clue that he would be double checking his electoral votes in case of tampering. If seriously BJP is planning on doing the same, it would have to change the plan now.
