Hyperloop Transportation in Vizag

The Hyperloop transportation system which was proposed between Vijayawada and Amaravati by the state government is now being extended to various cities in the state.

The Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority has asked the company to prepare a feasibility report on this regard, for making an extension to Anantapur and Visakhapatnam as well.

Demonstrator prototype Hyperloop transportation would be implemented in Amaravati which would be developed for a length of 5-10 km.

After creating the prototype, the company will coordinate with authorities and partners to create strategies for implementing the remaining phases of the corridor.

A corridor of 900 km connecting Anantapur, Amaravati, Vijayawada, and Visakhapatnam could be developed in the state.

The Hyperloop Transportation system would help significantly in cutting down the time of travel. HTT is cost effective than high speed and metro rail projects.

While the per kilometer cost of establishment of metro rail and high-speed rail cost USD 120 million and USD 40-150 million, the HTT system would cost USD 20-40 million.

The pods of the HTT will have a radius of 2.7 meters and 30 meters in length. It will travel at a speed of 1,223 kmph.
