FM’s to meet for discussing 15th finance commission

Andhra Pradesh Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu said today that all the states Finance Minister’s are likely to meet on May 7th for discussing the 15th Finance Commission.

He said that 12 states including all the southern states are going to suffer a great deal because of the 15th finance commission recommendations.

He alleged that the centre is trying to claim bossism over the states in complete ignorance to the federal spirit. Instead of extending a supporting hand to progressive states that have been maintaining financial discipline, the Centre is seeking to suppress them, he added.

The centre is trying to deprive the funds for the progressive states in the name of 15th Finance Commission, Andhra Pradesh FM opined.

Yanamala Ramakrishnudu further added that, because if the commission’s recommendations AP will be losing 8000 crore funds. Centre is saying that it will extend incentives but the new commission’s recommendations would knock the states own schemes, he said.

A press release from FM’s office announced that the meeting of FM’s on May 7 would be a follow up to the one held in Thiruvananthapuram last month to discuss the concerns over the ToR of the 15th Finance Commission for devolution of funds to states.

A resolution would be adopted against the 15th Finance Commission recommendations and would be submitted to the President, the release stated.
