Supreme Court asks Centre to file its response regarding SCS

Supreme Court has directed the centre to file its response to the implementation of the AP Reorganization Act.

A plea was filed by Congress member Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy stating that several provisions of the Act including the set up of a separate High Court for Telangana were not yet implemented.

The SC asked ASG to file its response and nearly four years have passed and nothing happened and to file a reply in four weeks.

The petition stated that many provisions enacted in the Reorganisation Act have not been implemented by the Union of India and various departments under the centre.

This lack of responsibility has been resulting in hardship to lakhs of people in both states and the non-implementation of provisions/assurances made in the Act will reduce the confidence on Parliament among the people.
