BJP MP Haribabu resigned

The state unit president of BJP, MP K.Haribabu has resigned to his post here on Tuesday. The resignation letter was sent to BJP national President Amit Shah.
Speculations are round that the resignation is part of BJPs strategy as the party wanting to make changes in the state unit in the wake of its split with TDP. The BJP party is planning to make its base stronger in AP as TD party has now quit its alliance.
For the post that has fallen vacant, many leaders were MLC Somu Veeraraju, MLA, and former minister P.Manikyala Rao, former Congress leader Kanna Lakshminarayana and former union minister in the UPA government D Purandareswari are the front-runners for the post.
According to sources the BJP is keen to appoint a leader belonging to Kapu community ass its head in the state.
However, the way he was asked to resign led to the speculations that the party leadership might have suspected his loyalty to the party and his friendly approach towards the TDP.
“It is just a technical issue. His term is almost over. Hence, the high command might have asked him to resign to revamp the party,” BJP floor leader in the assembly P Vishnu Kumar Raju said.
In all probability, Somu Veerraju is likely to succeed Hari Babu as state BJP president, as senior leader P Manikyala Rao opted out of the race.
